My name is Jeff Francis, and I am currently the recording engineer and an instructor for the University of South Carolina School of Music. I am so excited to be in my final course in the Educational Technology program. I successfully defended my portfolio last semester, so I definitely feel like I am in the home stretch. I have been a professional audio engineer for over 20 years. After earning my Bachelor's degree in Music Engineering Technology from the University of Miami, I spent 8 years in New York City working for Sony Music Studios. While working for Sony, I also developed and taught two graduate courses at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. This sparked my love of education and led me to a full-time position as recording engineer for the University of South Carolina School of Music. In my current position I have developed and regularly teach six courses in audio recording. Since EdTech combines technology and education, it has been a great fit for me. While I am looking forward to getting some of my free time back, I am also beginning to look at possible doctorate programs - but I have nothing definite as yet.
